This year the Tour De Ghaap race will take place on 4 and 5 September 2021. Starting at Lyfontein farm as a base camp. Lyfontein farm is situated approximately 85 km North-West of Kimberley on the R31 en route to Postmansburg.
On the first day, a distance of 77 km is covered on a new circular route with the King and Queen of the mountain at about 37 km on Gorrakop, and on the second day 38 km on a more technical course.

About the Race
Day 1
The challenge starts on Day one when riders are tasked with demonstrating speed and endurance as the route winds through mountainous terrain where they will encounter four water and energy points.
Day 2
Day two’s challenge is equal in difficulty for all participants as it is more technical, and in which cyclists must maximize their potential to push themselves even further. Each rider has two water and energy points at their disposal, while others will be able to restock at the base camp before eagerly moving forward toward the finish line.
Extra Information
Food and drinks will be provided from Friday evening until Sunday lunch at the base camp (Lyfontein Farm). Cyclists and their families are responsible for their own tents and camping gear. All cyclists sleep over at Lyfontein on a Friday evening. Collecting of cyclists’ numbers and goody bags are at Lyfontein from 12h00 Friday 4 Sept 2021. Basic washing and ablution facilities are available.

Important Rules
- No helmet no ride.
- Cancellation policy – 1 month before the race forfeit 50 % of entry fee, 3 weeks before race 100%
- All cycling shirts ordered can not be canceled 2months prior to the race start date.
- Riders who finish the race cannot go back and help another rider to finish the race, both riders will then be disqualified.
- Riders who win the overall prices forfeit their sub-category prices if they are entered in more than one category. The prize will then be given to the next rider in the category.
- Riders can only enter two categories.

- Individual and age categories
The categories: open / men and women ( 17-39) and then the age categories men and women ( 40-49) ( 50 -59 ) ( 60 +) Junior cat boys and girls ( U/16 ) - Corporate teams ( 4 riders per team )
- Corporate Teams: The first 3 riders’ finish times are ad together to get the teams time for the day.
Day 1 and 2 don’t have to be the same 3 riders. - Any other rules laid down by the Berg Farmers Association before the race start.
- NO VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED TO PARK IN THE TENT VILLAGE AT LYFONTEIN.
